Depends on how this network gets arranged - if WDS is going to be used
then the ESSID is going to be the same across the entire network.
Actually I'd recommend the ESSID be the same anyway, as this would greatly
reduce confusion. Individual identity could be put as the nickname - not
that I'm aware of any software which actively displays this ... though it
would be useful on a network management level.
Is there any progress on the initial test network which you were going to
do with Matt and Rob ?
Topology is going to have to be planned carefully, or you end up with no
bandwidth as repeaters just end up colliding with each other - repeaters
half the bandwidth as it is.
If you can plan it so repeaters are hidden as much as possible from other
repeaters and you try to use as many distinct channels (ie. 1, 6, 11) then
so much the better.
Hmmm, should I create a -tech mailing list for this sort of stuff, even if
I hardwire the membership of both lists to be the same, a seperate list
would at least enable people to distinguish type of content ?
