Another thought on this one Rob

The business model I have in mind goes something like this . . .=20

I can't understand the vertical thinking of telco nor of the corporates
who put added value systems on top of telco communications system. Put
the two together ie free broadband for a subscription of re-directing
=A320 worth of retail food purchases a week for a year from current
supplier to network operator who aggregates them and sells them on for a
commission which financially supports the network.......rather than
making the network pay for itself through subscription and all sorts of
other premium mechanisms . . now that's where I'm coming from

I was pointing out that making money out of wireless AP has been much
harder than anyone with fistfuls of venture cash anticipated; most=20
struggled and failed. Whereas shoestring community based groups have=20
been very successful.

Think of it like roads, power, telecoms: these are/were nationalised;
until everyone has them and takes them for granted, the benefits that
are built upon these infrastructures are not to be found. If you are=20
the only person in the world with a fax machine, it is not going to=20
be very useful.
