[hb_wireless] Re: Hebden Bridge wireless event

Never mind these things happen - that's two of us embarrassed in 1 week!

HebWeb had Rob's post up so Justin should do extra business just because
people will be lured there....

On the positive, I enjoyed Mondays meeting and think we should be a bit
more regular. It would be nice if we could improve on venue and perhaps
have a 'working area' where we can plan and test things a bit more.
FOTE used to use the venue above the Tourist Information Office - I'll
try and get down there tomorrow to see if they can accommodate us.

I don't think this should stop progress. Why not let's do some of the
proposed demonstrations amongst ourselves at the next meeting (whenever
that may be) On that note, perhaps we should revisit some of our
original intentions and organise the club roles etc. Rob seems to be
lumbered with much organising and the load should be fairly spread e.g.
organising of meetings etc.

BTW I'm on holiday 28th - 1st and would like to get my node set up.
Rob, fancy doing the war walk we talked about?????? Would need to
borrow a yagi & card just for the test.

Jacob - how's the PHP coming along? I need more help with the site.
Content is king and I have none so I welcome all to provide some for
additional pages. Gareth appears to be a keen photographer, how about
some club photos up?? Does anyone fancy doing a 'dummies guide' or a
glossary for all things wireless...?

Oh, finally may I remind you all that the chat room #digitalhebden on
Whatnet.org is open for business!

Simon

Huge embarrassment and I'm very apologetic.

We no longer have one of our venues tomorrow, therefore have to cancel
the wireless network event. We could perhaps all still commiserate in
The Inn on The Bridge but the Java Lounge doesn't want to host our
event tomorrow.

Despite this set back please keep an eye on our web site; it is very
much in its infancy now but should detail what we are up to as time
goes on.

As an aside can I remind you of an open meeting about broadband which
is on
22nd July at 7:30pm at the Good Shepherd Mytholmroyd - "Come and find
out what *broadband* can do for you."

My apologies,

Robert Currey
